Apocalypse Now Hanoi
BarsHanoi, Vietnam
The Hanoi branch of Saigon's famous old club — same name, similar energy, smaller scale. Multi-floor with different music zones, mixed local and expat crowd, runs late on weekends. A dependable option when Ta Hien gets too loud and chaotic.
📍 To Ngoc Van Street, Tay Ho, Hanoi
Bia Hoi Corner
BarsHanoi, Vietnam
The intersection of Ta Hien and Luong Ngoc Quyen is the most famous street drinking spot in Vietnam — possibly in Southeast Asia. Fresh-brewed bia hoi at 10,000 VND per glass, plastic stools, no pretension. Backpackers, locals, and long-timers sharing the same pavement. Starts filling by 5pm, peaks 8–11pm. Come early for a seat.
📍 Corner of Ta Hien and Luong Ngoc Quyen, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi
Funky Buddha
BarsHanoi, Vietnam
One of the Old Quarter's longest-running foreigner-oriented bars — rooftop terrace, cheap drinks, pool table, and a mixed crowd of backpackers and short-term expats. Reliable and unpretentious. Open from noon until late.
📍 2B Ta Hien Street, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi
Galaxy KTV
KTVHanoi, Vietnam
Mid-range KTV in the Ba Dinh area catering primarily to Vietnamese and Korean clients — private rooms, hostess companions, bottle service. One of the more accessible KTVs in Hanoi for visitors without local contacts; English is minimal but the format is navigable. Rooms from 500,000–800,000 VND per hour.
📍 Kim Ma Street, Ba Dinh, Hanoi
GC Social Club
BarsHanoi, Vietnam
Tay Ho's most established expat bar — Westlake waterfront location, outdoor seating, regular sports screenings, and a crowd skewing toward long-term expats and business visitors. One of the better options if you're staying in the West Lake area.
📍 Quang Khanh, Tay Ho, Hanoi
Legends Beer
BarsHanoi, Vietnam
Hoan Kiem's best-known craft beer venue — Vietnamese craft beers on tap, lake views from the upper floor, and a calmer atmosphere than the Ta Hien strip. Popular with expats and upscale Vietnamese drinkers. Good for an evening that doesn't involve plastic stools.
📍 39 Dinh Tien Hoang, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi
Moc Massage
MassageHanoi, Vietnam
Gray-area massage venue known to the Old Quarter expat community — works outside the brightly-lit spa format with a more private setup. Located in the backstreets behind Ta Hien. Price list is posted; selection is made from photos. Not hard to find if you ask around.
📍 Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi
Nola Kitchen & Bar
BarsHanoi, Vietnam
New Orleans-inspired bar and restaurant in Tay Ho — live jazz on weekends, solid cocktail list, decent American-style food. Fills up with expats and affluent Vietnamese at weekends. More of a bar-restaurant than a nightlife venue, but one of Hanoi's more enjoyable evening options.
📍 89 Xuan Dieu, Tay Ho, Hanoi
The Summit Lounge
BarsHanoi, Vietnam
Rooftop bar on the 20th floor of the Melia Hotel — panoramic Hanoi views, cocktails, upscale crowd. One of the better rooftop spots in the city and significantly less chaotic than the Old Quarter alternatives. Smart casual expected.
📍 44B Ly Thuong Kiet, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi
Zen Spa Hanoi
MassageHanoi, Vietnam
Well-established Day Spa chain with multiple Hanoi locations — legitimate full-service operation with Thai massage, Vietnamese massage, body scrubs, and facial treatments. Consistently rated by expats for professionalism. From 250,000 VND per hour.
📍 49 Hang Chuoi, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi
